Round-by-round: exactly what's asked & how to prepare
Online Assessment
~90-95 minA proctored MCQ-heavy test split across English/verbal, quantitative and logical reasoning, and computer fundamentals, often with 2 short coding problems for tech roles. There is typically no negative marking, so attempt everything. Sections are usually individually timed, so pace-per-section matters more than any single hard question.
- Data interpretation from a small table or chart
- Time-speed-distance or work-rate word problems
- Sentence correction and reading-comprehension inference
- Output-prediction on a short C/Java/SQL snippet
- An easy string or array manipulation coding task
- Drill quant and logical reasoning free sets on IndiaBix and GeeksforGeeks aptitude pages
- Solve 30-40 easy array/string problems on LeetCode or HackerRank
- Revise C/Java output questions and basic SQL SELECT/JOIN syntax
- Take one full timed mock to fix per-section pacing
- Spending too long on one hard quant question and starving the rest of a timed section
- Skipping the coding questions because MCQs feel safer
- Ignoring English/verbal, which is easy marks many candidates leave on the table
- Consistent accuracy across all sections, not one spiked score
- Clean, compiling code on the coding tasks
- Finishing sections without excessive guessing
Technical + HR Interview
~30-45 minA single panel blends technical questioning with HR/behavioral questions. Technical depth is fundamentals-level: OOP, DBMS, one language, and your resume projects, not competitive DSA. The same panel then probes motivation, teamwork, relocation willingness and consulting-client readiness.
- Walk through a project on your resume and your specific contribution
- Difference between two OOP concepts with a real example
- Basic SQL query and normalization reasoning
- Why Deloitte and why this service line
- A time you handled a deadline or team conflict
- Prepare a crisp 60-second story for every resume line and project
- Revise OOP, DBMS and one language's basics to explain-out-loud level
- Write STAR-format answers for 4-5 common behavioral prompts
- Research Deloitte's service lines and recent India focus areas
- Listing projects you cannot explain in depth
- Giving vague HR answers with no concrete example
- Showing no awareness of what a consulting firm actually does
- Clear structured explanation of your own work
- Honest 'I don't know' instead of bluffing
- Genuine, specific reasons for wanting Deloitte
What to master
- Quantitative aptitude and data interpretation
- Logical reasoning
- Verbal ability and reading comprehension
- OOP concepts
- DBMS and SQL basics
- One programming language (C/Java/Python)
- Resume project depth
- STAR behavioral storytelling
Eligibility
Typically 60% or 6.0 CGPA across 10th, 12th and graduation with no active backlogs; CSE/IT/ECE and allied branches for tech roles, broader streams for analyst roles. Confirm exact cutoffs per drive as they vary by campus and year (uncertain year-to-year).

Is coding heavily tested at Deloitte?
No. Expect only 1-2 easy coding problems in the online test and fundamentals-level technical questioning in the interview, not competitive DSA.
Is there still a Group Discussion round?
For most 2026 campus drives, no. The process now usually goes assessment straight to a combined technical-plus-HR interview, though some drives may still vary.
Is there negative marking?
Typically no negative marking in the online assessment, so attempt every question.
How technical is the interview really?
Fundamentals-focused: OOP, DBMS, SQL and your projects. It is not a LeetCode-hard round.
How fast is the process?
Often quick, with the interview shortly after the assessment and offers following within days to a couple of weeks.
What matters most in the HR portion?
Clear communication, genuine interest in Deloitte, and readiness for client-facing consulting work.
